Indoor Quads

Well folks, the indoor season is upon us and it doesn't get any better than competative Co-ed/Reverse Co-ed Quad Tournaments here at the FGVA. We have several action-packed tournaments scheduled for 2010 so don't miss out. Get your teams together now and get in the game.

Check-in begins at 8:30am, play begins at 9am, tournament ends by 6:00pm *

  1. Games are Rally Score to 21, win by 2.
  2. Players may line-up wherever they want but must maintain the same service order.
  3. There is no centerline violation as long as there is no interference with a player on the opposing team.
  4. No open hand tips allowed.
  5. Setting attacks must travel in line, forward or backward, in the direction the setter is facing.
  6. In Co-ed games, there are no gender contact rules (it's not necessary for a female to contact the ball).
  7. In Reverse Co-ed games, ONLY females can attack the ball. If a male player hits the ball over the net, the ball must clearly have an upward trajectory as judged by the officiating team. In addition, males may NOT jump serve.

Entry fee is $80 per team and the format is coed 4's, 2 guys-2 girls (teams may have an additional guy/girl on roster for substitutions).

Competition level is advanced - it is common for former or current collegiate players to be on teams (junior college to division 1). Matches are 2 games, one played on a men's net with traditional coed rules and one played on a women's net with reverse coed rules (only women may hit). Pool play is followed by single elimination bracket play. All 8 teams are included in bracket play.

Some Tournaments are limited to 8 teams per event.
Tournaments generally fill up by the Thursday before each tournament. To sign-up, teams must email a roster and the first 8 teams to submit complete rosters are given priority at registration. Additional teams that still want in are placed on a waiting list and if one of the 8 teams cancels then they are in.

You can print and bring the Registration and Waiver of Liability Form with you to registration or you can get one on the day of registration. Be sure to register a complete roster for your team as soon as possible to ensure your spot in each tournament

If you aren't local (if travelling from outside of the Fresno area) then your registration fee must be mailed in and received by the Friday before the tournament (address is on registration form, make checks out to Fresno High Boys Volleyball).

* Refer to the 2010 Tournament Calendar to determine the scheduling of the tournament you wish to participate in.
